Now i really am interested in reading and looking for a book which is easy to start with. Mostly funny novels is what I prefer to start with.. can anyone help me with your recommendations.

Sophie's World is a good start on Western Philosophy. Fyodor Dostoevsky is not for beginners. A book for beginners must not be judged in terms of number of pages (patli book). It should be judged on the basis of developing interest in the subject.

Am sorry, this is nonsense book. Please read original vyasa bharatam to understand Karna and role of caste. Kshytriya is not a rigid hierarchy, Krishna born as Yadav had King status. Karna instigated Duryodhana, to remove saree. Also u need to trace back past birth of Karna which has half sun and half demon characters. There are 100 kavacham, out of which 99 gets destroyed. It became fashion to eulogies to karna

One of the little reason that I love Charu❤ is she don't care about her pimples and just doing what she is at good at. BTW her pimples added to her beauty 😍 I can listen her all day😅 Lines dedicated to her.❤ Chehra ik phool ki tarah sharab hai, Chehra uska hai ya koi mehtaab hai, Chehra jaise ghazal chehra jaane ghazal, Chehra jaise kalli chehra jaise kanwal, Chehra jaise tasavur bhi tasveer bhi, Chehra ik khaab bhi chehra tabeer bhi, Chehra koi aliflailvi dastaan, Chehra ik pal yakeen chehra ik pal gumah, Chehra jaisa ke chehra kahin bhi nahi.., Mahrooh mahrooh mehjabin mehjabin,

Why are Indians so obsessed with Dostoevsky, Kafka. I've tried reading both(Notes from Underground and metamorphosis) and found they induce claustrophobia (I already have some anxiety issues). Though I read a lot(e.g Moby Dick, Jon Krakauer and much more and is proud member of two book clubs in Jaipur). If one starts suffering from mild Agoraphobia, one should know where to look. The future may be uncertain(Jobs, Marriage, Children, Misogyny and more) and confusing but do Dostoevsky has a cure.

I think Dostoyevsky's "Notes from the Underground" is probably not a good introduction, especially for people who are just getting into Philosophy. The first part is the Underground man just explaining himself and his ideology - a ideology based in spite and sickness - which can be off putting to many. Instead i would recommend Crime and Punishment . It is a better introduction to Dostoyevsky, even though it is the longer of the two, it is more engaging as we follow the psychological turmoil of Raskalnikov after what he does to the lousy pawnbroker.

I have just one question, how should a person read Dostoevsky. I tried "Crime & Punishment" but i didn't able to catch the essence of the book. Probably read 30 pages and discouraged. So my question is how should someone start reading him and understand what is he trying to convey?

I'm not a book reader at all and cp was my first ish book and i found that I had it easier cuz I had the pavear translation of the book, if possible you might want to switch. It was the best book for me. Tho the writing style is pretty confusing since it isn't mentioned who is speaking Many times

Again, Call Me By Your Name as a book/movie should NOT be glorified. Elio was SEVENTEEN. It was not love, it was grooming- plain and simple. About time we realise the power dynamics that come into play with age difference.

I keep thinking, what am I missing with Sally Rooney? Then I realised her books are incomplete. She will add bits of woke to her "dialogue" and she tries really hard to get into the sense of "simple profound" in her writing. But she only writes about the, in a rather non-contextual way, snippets of everyone who went to Trinity College, Dublin. She wants to explore sexualities and forms of relationships in her books but becomes a hindrance to her own plot by, and sometimes unnecessarily so, trying to make everything "multifaceted and complicated."
